Japanimation Partners LLP, an Organization to Produce Animation with Hollywood,
Acquires Domain Name "co.jp" for the First Time as Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
Japanimation Partners Limited Liability Partnership (Minato-ku, Tokyo) and its union member Think Corp. (Minato-ku, Tokyo. CEO: Yuji Mori) gets domain name "co.jp". With introduction of the laws concerning Limited Liability Partnership on August 1st, JP Domain Name Registration Service had been amended, and we became the first ones to acquire the domain name "co.jp" as Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
According to former civil laws, business partnerships could only get domain name "or.jp". Because their range of activities was obscure, they were nonjuridical and they were not obliged to register legally. But with introduction of LLP, JP Domain Name Registration Service had been amended. Now business partnerships qualified as LLP can get "co.jp" in addition to "or.jp".
As a leading LLP of contents industry, Japanimation Partners LLP plans to make public its activity as much as possible. So we applied for "co.jp" at the same time we applied for LLP. We think it is important to present the advantages of LLP as one style of business partnership. And we also want to show various possibilities of financing, management of copyright, and business scheme.

- About Japanimation Partners LLP
Japanimation Partners LLP is a Limited Liability Partnership for animation projects that would be co-produced with Hollywood. One of the earliest authorized LLP and the fist contents business-oriented LLP.
This LLP will produce an animation project based on popular Hollywood movie series whose latest title is planned to come out in the near future. And the animation version is to be released before the movie. Its production cost would be about 900,000,000yen in total. It takes a form of an anthology consisting of a few short stories of 10-20 minutes and based on screenplays co-produced by a movie company of Hollywood. This LLP takes charge of financing of budget, planning and arrangement for production in Japan. And the movie company of Hollywood takes charge of distribution. This scheme for co-producing has never been tried in Japan before.
The producer on the Japan side is Hiroaki Takeuchi, who produced "Animatrixh (Warner Homevideo), an animation anthology of famous sci-fi action "Matrix." Teaming up with Hollywood, and adopting up-and-coming animation directors from Japan, Korea, France, and the United States, he is going to produce a cutting-edge animation that will show us various animation techniques

Yuji Mori became CEO in the spring of 2005. Having worked for Microsoft Corporation and McKinsey & Company, he has wide experience in business development. He started development, investment, and supervision of visual art contents like animation, computer graphics in addition to existing business of web system development. Possessing a global view and a creator-like mind, he has been taking notice of the possibilities of LLP in the field of contents business, and made presentations about the utilization of LLP at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry sponsored contents business symposiums. He plans to set up innovative investing funds for contents business.
